Why Pure Body Med Spa

Physician expertise is part of the treatment—not an add-on

Weight management is personal medical care. Pure Body Med Spa is designed around direct physician involvement, thoughtful treatment selection and long-term support.

Board Certified in Obesity Medicine

Care is guided by Dr. Aslam's dedicated training and board certification in Obesity Medicine.

Direct Physician Guidance

Your health history, goals, treatment options and follow-up are approached through a physician-led model.

More Than Medication

Nutrition, activity, metabolic health, body-composition priorities and long-term maintenance remain part of the conversation.

Care Across Life Stages

Adults, adolescents and children receive age-appropriate evaluation informed by Dr. Aslam's broader clinical training.

A Medical Approach

Effective weight management starts with understanding the patient

Body weight can be influenced by many interacting factors, including appetite regulation, medications, medical history, sleep, nutrition, activity, age and life stage. A medical evaluation helps identify which factors matter for you before a treatment strategy is selected.

The goal is not to choose an injection first. The goal is to understand your health and build an appropriate plan.

Medication Options

Prescription weight-loss medications, when clinically appropriate

FDA-approved anti-obesity medications can be powerful tools for some patients, but medication selection should be individualized and medically supervised.

For patients considering weight-loss injections, GLP-1-based options such as semaglutide and tirzepatide may be discussed after medical evaluation.

GLP-1

Wegovy® / Ozempic® (semaglutide)

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. Wegovy® is approved for chronic weight management in eligible patients; Ozempic® is a diabetes brand with different approved indications.

GIP / GLP-1

Zepbound® / Mounjaro® (tirzepatide)

Tirzepatide targets GIP and GLP-1 pathways. Zepbound® is approved for chronic weight management in eligible patients; Mounjaro® is a diabetes brand with different approved indications.

Medication is one tool—not the entire program.

Whether medication is appropriate depends on medical history, current medications, contraindications, goals and other clinical considerations. Other treatment approaches may be recommended when appropriate.

Patients may also recognize semaglutide by the diabetes brand Ozempic® and tirzepatide by Mounjaro®. Brand indications differ, and the appropriate medication—if any—is determined through medical evaluation.

Considering a GLP-1?

Four questions to consider
before treatment begins

The medication matters, but so does the plan around it. A thoughtful program should address what happens before, during and after treatment—not only which prescription is selected.

What is the medical goal?

Treatment should be tied to your health history, weight-related risks, goals and clinical priorities rather than a medication trend.

Which option fits your health?

Medication choice should follow individualized evaluation of benefits, risks, contraindications and current medications.

How will strength and nutrition be supported?

Protein intake, nutrition quality, activity and resistance exercise can matter as appetite and weight change.

What is the longer-term plan?

Follow-up should consider response, tolerability, maintenance and what happens if treatment is changed or discontinued.

Your Program

More than medication

Successful medical weight management may involve prescription treatment, nutrition strategy, physical activity, sleep and lifestyle factors, clinical monitoring, body-composition priorities and a plan for maintaining progress.

Labs When Appropriate

Testing may be recommended when it adds useful clinical information or is relevant to treatment decisions.

Personalized Plan

Build an individualized strategy based on medical needs, preferences and long-term goals.

Maintenance Strategy

Body Composition

Protecting lean mass during weight loss

Meaningful weight loss can include loss of lean tissue as well as body fat. A thoughtful program considers protein intake, nutrition quality, appropriate physical activity and resistance exercise, and the pace and context of weight loss.

Adults

Weight management for Adults

Adult care may address prior weight-loss attempts, appetite, medication history, metabolic considerations, life stage, health risks, body-composition priorities and long-term maintenance. The plan is tailored to the individual rather than built around a single product.

Children & Adolescents

Weight management for Children & Adolescents

Weight management for children and adolescents requires attention to growth, development, nutrition, family context, medical history and psychosocial health. Dr. Aslam's training in Pediatrics, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition, and Obesity Medicine brings additional clinical depth to this care.

Is It Right for You?

Candidacy begins with medical evaluation

Prescription anti-obesity medication is not appropriate for every patient, and eligibility cannot be determined from one number alone. Your medical history, medications, weight-related health risks, prior treatment, age and individual goals all matter.

For children and adolescents, evaluation is age- and development-specific rather than based on adult criteria.

Treatment recommendations and applicable costs are reviewed with you before you move forward.
